What is the AMC 12?

The AMC 12 is an excellent way for students to develop their problem-solving skills and serves as an entry point for those aspiring to compete in international mathematics competitions, such as the USA International Mathematical Olympiad.

The AMC 12 is a 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice competition designed for students in grades 12 and below. The content covers mathematics typically taught in grades 9 and 10, including elementary algebra, basic geometry (such as the Pythagorean Theorem), area and volume formulas, elementary number theory, and elementary probability. Advanced topics like trigonometry, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry are excluded.

The AMC 12 offers two versions of the test, the 'A' and 'B' competitions. Students can choose the date that best fits their schedule or participate in both for additional practice.. Students apply classroom skills to unique problem-solving challenges in a low-stress and friendly environment.

Eligibility

Students in grade 12 or below and under 17.5 years of age on the day of the contest can take the AMC 12. Students who perform well on the AMC 12 may be invited to participate in other math competitions, including the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME).

Test Policy

During the competition, students are only allowed: writing utensils - blank scratch paper - rulers - compasses - erasers.

Prohibited materials include: calculators - smartwatches - phones - computing devices - protractors - graph paper.

FREE AMC Math Jam 

We are preparing weekly math jam for students to be prepared for the test. Dates and access will be announced via email.
